Domenic Camera, PrincipalWELCOME TO COLLIE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

As a learning community Collie Senior High School continues to engage both students and staff in a rich learning environment. We invite parents to continue to be partners in the learning process and encourage this essential partnership. Meeting the demands of our ever changing world requires that we adapt to the expectations of not only our community but also the expectations of the market places into which our youth will be experiencing as they build their future.

We at Collie SHS will continue to meet the challenges put before us and adapt so that we can provide the best possible learning experiences to serve our youth. Moving to more contemporary approaches and enabling students to access the broader offerings available for their first choices of study are just some of the challenges that are being met in a variety of ways. The expertise and experience of our staff will enable our learning community to grow and prosper. The use of communication tools such as this website is complimentary to the range of techniques and services that we will continue to develop to better engage with our community at all levels.

Our approach to education will remain holistic and we are committed to the four values which underpin the philosophy of Western Australian public school education which are: learning, excellence, equity and care.

Planning for the future is vital and with so many pathways it is important to make sure that you are as informed as possible about the options. If you were not able to attend the meeting about pathways you might want to look at the presentation. There will be further meetings about the different routes available throughout 2012

COLLIE SHS P & C - Can you help?

The P&C make enormous contributions in supporting the work of the school. The group are looking for volunteers to help with events and with running the uniform shop. If you feel that you are able to support in some way please contact the school.

Collie SuperTown

Collie has recently been announced as a SuperTown under the Government of WA’s Regional Centres Development Program.

The Government of WA has defined a SuperTown as: A selected community that has been chosen to play a critical role in absorbing some of the State’s predicted population growth. To facilitate this role identified local governments are required to develop a Growth Plan. SuperTowns communities will be encouraged to set new benchmarks, consider how they can realise underutilised resources and capabilities, and become more self-sufficient. SuperTowns will support communities that are motivated to achieve their vision for the future. SuperTowns recognises the role and importance of regions and towns to the Western Australian economy, and that regional economic development is essential to the growth and functionality of sustainable communities. SuperTowns acknowledges this dynamic by seeking to understand and address regional, sub-regional and town relationships and synergies. This will enable the full range of factors and issues that have a major influence and impact on town growth to be taken into account. Click here to find out more
